Your First Visit

Your first consultation with your chiropractor is where we find out how we can help you.
Your first appointment with your chiropractor is the Initial Consultation. This is when we investigate your problem to find out how we can help.
When you visit the clinic, your chiropractor will take a full history of your complaint and ask you relevant questions about your general health and lifestyle, etc. This will give us a good understanding of how we may be able to help.
Your chiropractor will complete your assessment by performing an appropriate physical examination. This will include a number of orthopaedic and neurological tests, including observations about your balance, coordination, movement patterns etc.
Please remember to wear loose fitting clothing to allow freedom of movement. (If necessary we can provide gowns/shorts.)
This is where we discuss the findings of the examination and develop a plan of action which fits with your needs and expectations. No two plans are ever the same.
If treatment is appropriate, your chiropractor will obtain your consent before they proceed.
If we conclude that chiropractic care is not appropriate we will direct you towards a more appropriate solution.
If we find that your problem requires further investigation such as imaging (X-ray or MRI) this can be arranged directly.
It is often appropriate to start your treatment at the end of your Initial Consultation – at no extra charge.
Your chiropractor may perform a hands-on treatment, adjusting key areas of your body to start the process of getting your body back to normal.
We treat you, as opposed to limiting treatment only to your diagnosis, so all patient management plans vary.
